On Call Carer - Galway (Alternative Weekends)

Location: Galway office (2km outside the town of Athenry)
Hours: (20 hours)

Friday 14.00-16.30pm (on call from 16.30-Saturady 9.00am).

Saturday 9.00am-17.00pm (on call from 17.00-Sunday 9.00am).

Sunday 9.00am-17.00pm (on call from 17.00-Monday 9.00am).

Monday 9.00am-11.30am.

Duties:

The on call post includes the following responsibilities;

The person will be responsible for answering calls from clients, their families or care staff during the evening and weekends.

Supporting staff with regard to care concerns.

Management of emergency’s and arrangement of care schedule cover where emergencies arise.

Managing out of hours on call log.

Administration duties assigned by Manager.

Competency:

The person must have;

Mandatory:

Nursing degree or health care qualification in care of the elderly. Full FETAC/QQI award which includes Care Skills and Care of the Older person.

Skills:

Proficient in computer skills.

Experience:

Experience in community care (5 years).

Knowledge of HIQA standards for Residential care and Disabilities, Safer better health care.
